FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions:
What is Predicted Point Diff.?
The number of points the model predicts the home team will win by (or lose by if the number is negative). Example: if Predicted Point Diff. is -2.2, the model is predicting that the home team will lose by 2.2 points.

What is Actual Point Diff.?
(Only available for games that have been played) The number of points the home team actually won (if the number is positive) or lost (if the number is negative) by. Example: if Actual Point Diff. is 7, the home team won the game by 7 points.

What is the Line?
The Line, also called the point spread or just the spread, is used to handicap the favorite team. Sportsbooks set the line to try and evenly divide the amount of money bet on the favorite and the underdog. At the Pigskin Herald the Line is displayed with respect to the home team. Therefore, if the Line is positive it means the home team is the underdog, if negative the home team is the favorite.

What is Correct-SU?
SU - Straight up. This will be available after all the weeks games have been completed. It will be set to 'Yes' if the model predicted the winning team and 'No' if it was wrong.

What is Correct-ATS?
ATS - Against the spread. This will be available after all the weeks games have been completed. It will be set to 'Yes' if a bet made based on the prediction and Line would have won, and 'No' if the bet would have lost. Example: Week 4, Jets (home) vs Colts, the Line was +8 indicating that the Colts were favored to win the game by 8; the model predicted the outcome to be Colts by 2.9, this prediction indicates a bet on the Jets with the 8 points; the outcome of the game was that the Colts won by 3, but less than the 8 they would have needed to cover the point spread, therefore the prediction against the spread was correct.
